The smuggler

We recently heard a funny story from a friend about her Hungarian mother's frustration in finding the meats she remembered from her childhood. The mother finally resorted to smuggling a few salamis in her suitcase after a trip to the old country. Of course, she got caught, lost the salami, and was fined by customs. This, we decided, was a food we had to taste.
Thankfully, Pick brand Hungarian winter salami is now available at multiple specialty markets, including Corrado's in Clifton and Wayne. It's a delicately spiced mild salami, somewhat similar to Genoa.
