Marakesh: Moroccan cuisine in Parsippany

On Friday and Saturday nights, you don't go to Marakesh Moroccan restaurant for dinner alone - you go for an entire evening of food, music and dance. Sometimes people visiting for the first time wonder why the service is so slow -- the reason is that the proprietor expects you to stay for several hours and take in the entire experience!

The owner, Abdel Al Akkari, uses recipes direct from his mom's kitchen in Rabat, Morocco. The results are delicious - even for your friends who don't normally have adventurous palates. Try the yummy kabobs, the grilled Moroccan chicken and the lamb tangine. And whatever you do, don't pass up the delectable besteeya; a flaky pastry topped with orange blossom cream and chopped nuts.

With the draping fabric in the dining room, the hand-washing bowls and the waiter pouring your tea from a pot about three feet above your cup, you'll feel like you're dining in a Moroccan tent. Go already!
