Marvelous Makeda

If you've never tried Ethiopian food, you're missing a wonderful experience. The spices and aromas are exotic and pleasant, the food delicious. One of the most interesting things about Ethiopian cuisine, though, is the way you eat it. Entrees are served on a large round piece of flat, spongy, pancake-ish bread called injera. You slowly tear off pieces of the injera, using it to scoop up mouthfuls of the entree.

Makeda, located in downtown New Brunswick, is more modern than you're likely to see at other Ethiopian restaurants in the tri-state area and the adjoining gallery is a pleasant bonus.
